Fun and Easy Breakfast Ideas For Scripture Study Time

I found that when we did morning/before school/seminary-scripture study, it was MUCH easier to gather everyone when I had a yummy meal on the table! Here are some favorite fun and easy breakfast ideas the whole family will love!

Make Ahead Meals

For those of us who really would need to get up at 5 am to accomplish this before kids need to leave, here are some ideas that can be done a week ahead or the night before. Either way, you can grab onto that extra half-hour of sleep!

These first bars can be eaten as a dessert as well but I figure with oatmeal and strawberries, we are talking breakfast too! And…who doesn’t love dessert for breakfast!

Oatmeal Strawberry Bars

These look so yummy and only 100 calories!!!

My favorite thing about these is they are only 100 calories! You can eat them alone or whip up some scrambled eggs with added cream cheese! Soooo good!

Egg and Sausage Breakfast Taquitos

These can be made as Taquitos or you can also do the easy make-ahead and freeze breakfast burritos with eggs, cheese, hash browns and either sausage or bacon crumbles. I like to freeze these individually so the kids can just pull them out one by one if needed.

Super Easy Breakfast Casserole Muffins

I used to make these for my seminary classes. The kids loved them. They are super easy and can be prepared the night before and stuck in the fridge. Then just pull them out, bake and viola!!!

These are so yummy! My kids LOVED them and therefore they loved scripture study time!

Easy Muffins and Biscuits

One of my all time favorite breakfast treats is my grandma’s Brown Sugar Muffins! Everyone in our family loves them. They pair well with any egg-fried, poached, boiled, scrambled. Delightful! (and an extra plus is that every time I make them, I think of her!)

Brown SUgar Muffins and Family Scripture Study-a great pair!

Cinnamon Biscuits

A favorite of my seminary classes was a super easy recipe I just kind of made up. To make it easy I used Pillsbury Grands Flaky Biscuits. Melt 1/2 cup butter in a dish. Mix together a cinnamon sugar in a bowl. Pop open can of biscuits. With my seminary class I used two cans. Dip each Biscuit in melted butter, then cover with cinnamon sugar mixture till completely covered. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cook according to directions on can. So easy and soooo good! If I were to make it for my family today I would probably use my FAVORITE homemade biscuit recipe which I will leave below. Then just follow the same instructions-dip in butter then cinnamon sugar mixture.

Best Biscuits ever. They make my morning scripture study delightful!

These are also delicious with homemade strawberry jam (in The Magnolia Table Cookbook!) or served with a sausage gravy (also in the Magnolia Table Cookbook)

Feeding The 5,000 or just the family

Just as Christ made sure his target audience he was teaching had their physical needs met before he spiritually taught-we can follow that example! If our children are enjoying great food and full bellies, they will be more likely to listen and participate in what is being taught!
